WAGES:

A new apprentice's starting wage is 40% of contracted journeyman wages + $6.00 per hour. These wages may vary depending on the type and location of the job. The current minimum starting wage is $19.65 per hour for most jobs; there are other jobs and residential work that will pay less. These wages do not reflect the fees deducted from your gross wages and can be changed at any time due to contract negotiations.

TRAINING:

Training is offered in the following Commercial and Residential areas:  

  • Welding *
  • Plumbing
  • Pipefitting
  • Refrigeration
  • Air Conditioning
  • Heating

* National U.A. Certifications are available in these classifications.

U.A. Local 367's Training Program is a 10,000-hour program, (5+ years) which consists of a combination of on-the-job training and classroom/shop instruction.

(A) On-the-job training is received while the apprentice is dispatched to contractors signatory with the union.  Experienced Journeymen who have extensive field experience in today’s Plumbing & Pipefitting Industry supervise apprentices.

(B) Classroom/Shop training is scheduled once a year for five years at 40 hours a week for six weeks per year. Apprentices otherwise eligible for unemployment benefits are eligible to collect State unemployment compensation while enrolled in U.A. Local 367's apprentice classes.
 

DRUG FREE WORKPLACE:

A drug and alcohol screen must be passed once you have completed the interview process and if you are offered a position in the apprenticeship program.  Random testing will be conducted while enrolled in the apprenticeship program.
 

Requirements

The following requirements must be met in order to receive a U.A. Local 367 Apprenticeship application:

(A) Must be 18 years or older.
 
(B) Must have either a High School Diploma (with transcripts) or a G.E.D.
 
(C) Once an applicant is accepted into Local 367's Apprentice program he/she must, upon request, provide a copy of his/her driving record over the past 3 years.
